Who is Darian Philo?

Who am I?

I am a 36 year old married man with three beautiful daughters. My wife is a school teacher and I am a golf course builder. My three daughters are dancers, athletes, and Readers. I like to talk a lot about my daughters because they mean the world to me.

I spend the majority of my time concentrating on things that pertain to building high quality golf courses. When I am not working I am spending my time with my family doing a variety of things.

My oldest daughter and I like to play golf, tennis, and basketball. She is very athletic and is turning out to be quite a little sportster. My second daughter has not yet developed her ability as an athlete. We spend a lot of our time together doing other things like swimming and playing in the yard. She is a dancer at heart so that takes up a lot of her time. My youngest daughter is just learning to walk so you can imagine the fun we have together with that

I am originally from Tampa Bay, Florida and currently reside in South Georgia. Being from Tampa I grew up as a HUGE Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fan! I travel to many home games as well as a few on the road. One of the memories I have as a kid going to the Bucs games is that they were known by opposing fans as the Yucs. The bucs were always one of the worst teams in the league when I was growing up, at least it seemed that way. Now, they are one of the better teams in the NFC and I am still just as big a fan as I was when they were losers.

Recently I started my own business. This has really been great fun for me in my spare time. Anyway, I started a network marketing company. I have only been in business now for a few months and it has been a tremendous amount of fun. It has also been a little frustrating as well. When I first started I thought it was going to be very simple. Then the frustrations took over. A few of the frustrating things that I have encountered are:

do I start an LLC, an S-corp,Corporation

etc,how do I market my business, who can I seek help from to turn me in the right direction, where do I get leads from, how do I get myself organized to run as efficiently as possible, how much time can I spend working with this new business since I am working full-time building golf courses, what type of mindset do I need to have in order to be very successful, are there conferences for me to attend, and so on.

How was I suppose to answer these questions that I was feeling frustrated about?

Frustrations with my Business:

Starting a New Company

When I began as a network marketer I needed to start my own business and separate it from everything else that I do personally. Well the first thing I had to decide was what type of business do I want to start. After researching the different types I decided, with the help of an alliance from wealth masters, to start an LLC. This is a limited liability corporation. So, I began to relieve my stress with the help of an individual that made himself available as a result of being part of an organization called Wealth Masters International.

How do I Market My Business?

This one is probably the one that will continue to be the most frustrating. It seems like no matter how well you do with one aspect of marketing there is always someone out there that knows another successful way of doing some sort of marketing. For example, when I first started, I used many different ways of marketing including advertising in newspapers, magazines, e-mail blasts, internet, WEB 2.0, etc. Each time I was trained on an aspect of marketing there was another bigger and better way. There are so many ways to market your business out there that it can be a little overwhelming at times.

My advice that I would give to someone just starting out is to simply start with one or two marketing techniques. Master those two and then move on to another technique, one at a time, mastering each one as you go.

Who Can I Seek Help From to Turn Me in the Right Direction?

Seeking help from people can be a very frustrating issue. When you first start out in this business it seems like you are never going to be successful. You don’t know where to turn, you don’t know what types of questions to ask, you think that everyone is against you because they are your competition. Then, you simply start asking questions. People, depending on the organization you are in, simply start to point you in the right direction. I learned more from the people in my business that I ever thought I could about this business once I started asking questions. In the beginning it was frustrating, but then I started moving in the right direction because I chose to take action

Where do I get Leads From?

Well, this is the big one. This is what we all seek when we are trying to market ourselves on the internet. I have had many frustrations with getting leads. I began by putting ads in newspapers and magazines. I moved on to sending out e-mail blasts for a small fee. These things worked, but not as well as I would have imagined. I then went to a marketing conference that was put on by Carbon Copy Pro. This was probably the best investment I ever made. At the conference I met so many people that were just incredible.

This trip turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made in my entrepreneurial career. After I returned from the conference I began using many of the techniques that I learned from attending this great event. These techniques proved to be ones that helped me help myself which in turn enabled me to help others. As I began learning these techniques I was able to pass them on to my team. We were learning so much together that enabled us to move to the next level. Leads are now just something that we, as a team, sift through instead of worrying about where they are coming from.

How do I get Myself Organized to Run as Efficiently as Possible?

I will say that organization is one thing that can bring you down if you don’t have it. Not only in your personal life, but in your business as well.

I had to learn to apply techniques that I used in my personal life to my business. You see when I first started my business I was all over the place. I was searching the internet, I was making calls, I was watching videos, you name it. But I did not know what I was doing all of this for and why. Then, I got myself a mentor. I started learning from someone who had already gone through all of these steps. He taught me how to run my business as efficiently as possible in stages. Now, I am not perfectly organized, but I am definitely a work in progress.

How much Time can I Spend Working with this New Business When I am working a Full-Time Job Building Golf Courses?

In the beginning this was a very difficult question to answer. I did not know how much time I could spend on this new business. I thought I could spend an hour here or an hour there and things would be fine. I was wrong and I learned that in a hurry. I started to work out a routine. I worked at my full-time job from approximately 7:30am until 5:00pm. After I completed my tasks for the day, which by the way, sometimes led until 6:00, 7:00, or even 8:00, I would go home fix dinner, spend time with my family, and after the kids were in bed I would begin working on my business which usually lasted from 9:00pm until 2:00am. Heck if I was traveling from one job site to the next, I would sometimes be on the road until 12:00 or 1:00 am. If that was the case I did not have much time to put into the business. So my routine is sometimes sporadic but can be pretty regular when I am at home. Either way there has to be a certain amount of time set aside for working on building my business. It is definitely not going to build itself. So I try to put in 4-5 hours a day depending on what my situation is.

The last two that I mentioned earlier are pretty simple.

What type of mindset do I need to be in and do I need to attend conferences? The first is one that I truly enjoy because it brings me success more than any other and that is the mindset. I began thinking, with the advice of one of my mentors, like a millionaire. I began doing this early in my entrepreneurial career. What it has done for me is get me on a certain level of thinking that cannot be penetrated by anyone. Because, you see, I have developed the habit of thinking like a millionaire and it is something that I will not let anyone break down. I may not be a millionaire yet. But I guarantee you If I continue to help the amount of people that I have averaged on a weekly basis, I will be a millionaire. Then I can just continue thinking the way I have been thinking without really having to change anything. Thinking this way brings me more confidence, heck, it brings my team more confidence. When I am thinking and acting a certain way, those actions begin to rub off on the people closest to you. So, therefore this thinking has been spreading throughout my team. This has been absolutely GREAT! The second and last thing is the attendance of conferences. Friends, I will say this once, I am truly a huge fan of conferences, especially with Carbon Copy Pro, and Wealth Masters. These guys really know how to put together a truly life changing experience. Not only do you have a good time and enjoy yourself, but you meet new people, you learn new things, you are exposed to new opportunities, and with the Wealth Conferences, you learn from the mega wealthy how to increase, retain, and produce more wealth. What more could you ask for.

..I love and enjoy living life to the extreme. I love work and hanging out with people who are truly energetic and go getter's! People that like to have fun but yet know how to take action. My motto is WORK HARD, PLAY HARD!..
